• An augmented reality (AR) environment is understood best
as a system that allows for combining real world objects with
virtual objects using a device application.

What is Augmented Reality

How is AR used in the
classroom?

• The use of the AR-based technologies allows an individual learning for each student
and the manipulation of both tangible and virtual objects in an enhanced and
motivational scenery.
• An AR-based activities allow students to manipulate virtual objects as well as to
physical objects in the real world. Thus, they can move around a 3D-virtual figure
and view it from any vantage point, just like a real object.
• To do this, students need a smart phone or tablet with the designated app installed.
• Due to the affordability and the ease of use, AR has been reported as a technological
adoption for K-12 levels and High Education levels.
• Different studies demonstrated the AR usefulness for increasing student motivation,
as well as for enhancing a wide variety of learning domains.
• AR applications had been told to strengthen the comprehension of complex
concepts.
• AR enhances the students’ visual perception.
