 In industrial process engineering, mixing is a type of Unit

Operation that involves the manipulation/processing of
Heterogeneous system of solids with an intent of
converting it into Homogenous system.
 The mixing of solids whether free-flowing or cohesive,
resembles to some extent the mixing of low-viscosity
liquids.
 Some of the equipment normally used for blending of
liquids may, on occasion, be used to mix solids.
