WHAT ARE MEANT BY SUPERSTITIONS?

 Superstitions can be defined as “Irrational beliefs, especially with regard to


the unknown”.
 Beliefs that some events bring good or bad luck.
 “Beliefs, or half beliefs that lead to ignorance, fear or belief in magic.
 Superstition is also called fake believe
WHY WE CALL IT FAKE BELIEF?

• They explain the unexplainable things


• They are based on the fear of abnormal
• They reflects our desire to have some power over our destinies
TYPES OF SUPERSTITIOUS

• Good luck superstitious


• Bad luck superstitious
LIST OF GOOD LUCK SUPERSTITIOUS

• If you sneeze it means someone is missing you


• If your right hand itches you will earn money
• If you dream about white cat you will have good luck
• Kids shouldn’t let anyone walk over them otherwise they will stop growing
• When a crow crows at some ones window, it announces the arrival of guests
LIST OF BAD LUCK SUPERSTITIOUS

• If you break a mirror it will bring you seven years of bad luck
• If you eat from the pot it will rain at your wedding ceremony
• If a black cat crosses your path you will have bad luck
• It is bad luck to open the umbrella in the house
• It is bad luck to see a owl in the sunlight
• When the left eye is blinking indicates something bad is going to happen
SOME UNBELIEVABLE BELIEFS

• In Nepal, the girl marry with Statue of Krishna. There is a cult of live Kumari
Goddesses and it is made up of little girls

SUPERSTITION BECOME REASON OF
MURDERS
• In June 2013, national commission for women (NCW) reported that according
to national crime records Bureau statistics, 768 women had been murdered
for allegedly practicing witchcraft since 2008
• Between 2001 and 2006 and estimated 300 people were killed in the state of
Assam

• Realize that there is no rational proof that these superstitions can affect your
life
• Realize that you have a power to make your own luck
• Avoid superstitious believe when making decisions
• Think logical and be scientific
• Be positive
CONCLUSION:

• Superstition is irrational state of mind which illogical state we should be


reasonable and rational mind to overcome upon it
• Education is one factor that can wipe out superstitions to some extent
