NATURAL APPROACH

Natural Approach is one of the teaching


methods delivered by a linguist named Stephan
Krashen. the natural approach is based on the
view that the mastery of a language relies more on
the acquisition of that language in its natural
context.
In this method, a teacher becomes the primary
source and is able to create a pleasant learning
atmosphere by using various realities.
 Purpose
Natural Approach aims to improve the ability to
communicate in the target language in a variety of skills
(reading, writing, listening, or speaking) or we will
understand if someone speaks using the target language.
 Activity
The learning process in NA is adapted from a variety of
other learning methods, for example teaching or
instruction given is TPR(Total Physical Response),
imitating, movement, and the context of the
direct are used to elicit questions and answers.
Learning rules

Pre-production stage: students participate in the


language activity without having repond.
 Early-production stage: students repond questions,
use single words and short phrases.
 Speech-emergent phase: students involve
themselves in role plays, games.
Teacher rules

The primary source of comprehensible input in the


target language.
 The creator who creates a classroom atmosphere
that is interesting, friendly and in which
there is a low affective filter for learning.
 The organizer who choose and orchestrate a
rich mix
of classroom activities, involving a variety of group 
size, content.
Conclusions

The Natural Apprach is based on observation an


interpretation of how learners acquire both first and
second language in non formal settings. And natural
approach focus on comprhension and meaningful
communication.
