Background
Schizophrenia is a public health problem that is a concern because the impact of
schizophrenia is not only felt by sufferers and families but also the community and
the government. The financial burden caused by schizophrenia, can affect
individuals who suffer from schizophrenia, family and society, because there are
still often negative views (stigma).
Auditory hallucination, which is experienced by 70% of schizophrenia patients
worldwide.
Hallucinatory conditions are potentially dangerous, because hallucinatory
commands cause a person to carry out dangerous actions, such as cutting off
body parts or attacking someone. Fear caused by hallucinations can cause fear to
jump out the window, until suicide
Non-compliance with therapy is a major problem with almost all psychotic drugs.
Family support will help achieve the success of treatment. Families must know the
type and type of drug, the dose, the time of administration or use of the drug, and
the consequences of stopping the drug
Problem Formulation
Problem formulation in this research is : “is there a correlation of family
support and medication adherence in schizophrenic patients with
auditory hallucinations in the North Cimahi Health Center?”
Research Design
Research design used in this research is analytic with the type of research design is
cross sectional.
Research Variable
Dependent variable in this research is family support
Independent variable in this research is medical adherence

Population and Sample
Population
Population in this research are average of
schizophrenia patients in North Cimahi Health Center
on 2018 as many as 109 patients.
Sample
Sampling in this research is using purposive
sampling. The amount of samples in this research are
schizophrenia patients in North Cimahi Health Center
on 2018 as many as 86 respondents.
Data Collection
Data Type: Primary Data
Research Instruments:
Family social support : Questionnaire
Medical adherence : Questionnaire of Psychosis
Medication Adherence Rating Scale (MARS)
Test of the Validity and Reliability of Research
Instruments
Validity and reliability tests has been carried out in
Cigugur Tengah Community Health Center of Cimahi
City for 20 respondents.

The results of the analysis in table 4.1 above can be seen that from a total of 86
respondents, some respondents as many as 43 people (50%) get family support in
schizophrenic patients with auditory hallucinations in Cimahi Utara Public Health
Center

The results of the analysis in table 4.2 above can be seen that from a total of
86 respondents, the majority of respondents, as many as 45 people (65.1%)
were not compliant to take medication in schizophrenia patients with
auditory hallucinations in North Cimahi Health Center.

The results of the analysis in table 4.2 above can be seen that from a total of
86 respondents, the majority of respondents, as many as 45 people (65.1%)
were not compliant to take medication in schizophrenia patients with
auditory hallucinations in North Cimahi Health Center.
CHAPTER V
CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION
Conclusion:
1. Half of schizophrenia patients with auditory
hallucinations (50%) get family support.
2. Most of schizophrenia patients with auditory
hallucinations (65.1%) do not comply with
medication.
3. There is a relationship of family support with
medical adherence in schizophrenia patients
with auditory hallucinations in North Cimahi
Health Center with p-value = 0.042.
Suggestion
1. For Puskesmas
Puskesmas is expected to be able to provide health education by
providing outreach and counseling to the families of schizophrenic
patients with auditory hallucinations and their families to be
compliant in taking medication.
2. For Nurses
The results of this study are expected to be a supplementary
information and consideration for nurses in carrying out nursing
care for schizophrenic patients with auditory hallucinations, by
providing education to the patient's family to supervise patients in
taking medication according to the doctor's prescription.
3. For the Community
The results of this study are expected to increase public
knowledge and understanding of schizophrenia by hearing
hallucinations so that it can eliminate the stigma against patients
and provide social support for patients.
