Introduction :

The present generation has already forgotten

the ways and values their ancestors had an traditional
courtship. Many people also disregarded the role of the
family and community in the unions of the couple. In
terms of morality, many youth have also neglected
respect for sexual relationship after marriage with have
resulted mostly in frogile relationships.
 Statement of the problem
The study aimed to described the narrative of
elderlies from San Vincent Ilocos Sur on their experiences
along traditional courtship.
Specifically, the research sought answers to the
following questions :
1. What are the experiences of the informants during
courtship?
2. What are the significance of courtship among the
informants.?
3. What social values are reflected in traditional courtship of
Ilocanos?
FINDINGS
The following are the findings of the study
1.Experience of informants during courtship.
The beginning of Courtship
Some elderlies in San Vincente started to court
after they finished their education and got a decent job
and during courtship a suitor must do every thing in order
to get the attention and impress the woman he like
During courtship
Some of the elders in San Vincente used
give and do things during courtship. The thing
they usually do and give are flowers, love letter
and fruits they used to do seranading for them to
show how much they really like the woman
2. On significance of courtship among the informants
The researcher found out that the elderlies of San
Vincente gives important to courtship because it is where
couples get to know each other well.

3. On social values reflected in traditional courtship

the following are the social values that the
researchers extracted from the informants :
*GOD FEARING. *RESPECTFUL. *LOVINGMAN.
*PATIENCE. *HARDWORKING. *PERSISTENT.
*BROTHERHOOD
Conclusions
For the conclusion of the study, the researchers
hereby sonclude the following :
1. The traditional courtship requires time and effort.
2. The suitor does all his will to court a girl.
3. The courtship is important.
4. The courtship has its significance and on why it is being
observed
5. The social effect of courtship is opportunity to build
stronger relationships and meet new people.
Recommendation
I view of the drawn findings and conclusions,the
researchers recommended the following :
1. The presen generation should apply the values reflected
in courtship to get stronger relationships with their
partner.
2. Youth should give importance to the traditional courtship.
3. There should be activities like semmars education the
youth on the traditional courtship.
4. There should be follow up study regarding to other
courtship narratives of other places
