Some Tips & Tricks

How to find the square of
numbers ending with 5

Conventional Method Vedic Method

65 65 X 65 = 4225
X 65
325 (Ignore the unit digit , find the
390 x product of the rest of the
4225 Number & its successor
and then write 25 in the last)
65
6X7
25
How to multiply a number with 11

We will move from right to left to find the

product . Unit digit remains the same and
then write the sum of one’s and ten’s digit
on the left & then write the last digit. The
same procedure will be followed for the
number more than 2 digits.

2 3 X 11 = 253 1 3 3 X 11 =
1463
Multiplication of two numbers where
tens digits are same and units digits
sum is 10

Example :  47*43

Here first digits are same, i.e. 4. Sum of second digits is 7 + 3 = 10.
This is exactly the conditions we are talking.

How to find the multiplication result:

Multiply 4 by 4+1, i.e. 4*(4+1)=20

Multiply last two digits, i.e. 7*3 = 21

Now the result is,  47 * 43 = [4*(4+1)][7*3]=[20][21]=2021

Multiplication of two numbers
where the sum of ten place is 10
and unit place digit is same

Example : 13 X 93 = 1209

• Here the product of the tens digits is 1 X 9 = 9

• Now add ones digit i.e. 3 to 9 which is equals to 12

• Product of ones digits i.e. 3 X 3 = 09 (it should be a 2 digit number )

From 2nd and 3rd step we get the product as 1209
