Base data:

– Finn Church Aid is an independent foundation set up


by the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Church to carry
out diaconal work – service – in the world.

– Our task is to reduce, together with less privileged


people, their vulnerability and to work towards a more
just world.  Not mission work.

– PIP in Somalia (Somaliland, Puntland and Galgayo)


since 2009: To solve local conflicts together with
traditional and religiuos leaders

– Some app. 10 conflicts solved every year

The P.I.P. process

The PIP-process consists of 6 steps:

1.Conflict Assessment
2.Preparation
3.Meetings with decision makers
4.Paving the road for the venue
5.Getting under the tree
6.Reconciliation

Time and cost:

• Process takes 1-3 Months to solve one conflict

• Phase GETTING UNDER THE TREE takes 10-12 days

• Average cost of solving one conflict is 12 600 USD
