 INTRODUCTION
• SSE is a stock exchange that is located in the city of Shanghai ,china.

• It is one of the two exchanges, working independently in the people’s

republic of china , the other being the Shenzhen stock.

• SSE is the world’s 4th largest stock market by market capitalization at

US$5.5 trillion.
• SSE is still not entirely open to foreign investors and often
manipulated by the decisions of the central government.
• SSE is directly governed by China Securities Regulatory Commission.
 TYPES OF SECURITIES LISTED UNDER SSC
• Stocks, Funds , Bonds and derivatives are all traded on the exchange.
• On SSE there are two main classes of stock for every listed company traded on the
exchange: A shares and B shares
A shares- These shares are quoted in Yuan and ae only available to foreign
investment through a qualifies program known as QFII.
B shares- These shares are quoted in US dollars and are generally open to
foreign investment.
• Chinese equities are also traded on the Hong Kong Exchange, which has been
trading H -shares in Chinese companies for many years.
 STOCK LISTING REQUIREMENTS
A company hoping to be listed on the SSE must meet the following
requirements –
1. The company must have gained the approval of the CSRC.
2. It must have a total share capital of more than RMB ( renminbi) 50
million.
3. The amount of publicly offered stock must be greater than 25% of
total issued shares , unless a company’s total share capital is more
than RMB 400 million, in which case percent is reduced to only 10%.
4. The company must not have committed any major illegal acts or
financial report falsehoods over the past three years.

2019. The data reached an all-time high of 71.380 in Oct 2007 and a
record low of 9.590 in May 2014. Shanghai Stock Exchange provides daily
