What is Computer
• Computer is an electronic device which manipulates the given data
(input) based on the instruction (Programm/Instruction) given to
produce the desired result (Output).
• Computer is an obedient servant does nothing without any
instruction & most importantly, output is totally based on the data &
Instruction given
• Computers works on a principle, “what you give is what you get”.
Commonly known as GIGO  Garbage In - .Garbage Out
Computer Components or
Units
• Input Unit - Used to supply the Data & Instruction
• Output Unit - used to produce the result
• Storage Unit – Stores the data, programs and outputs
• Central Processing Unit (CPU) – Where Actual performance takes
place.
• Arithmetic and Logic Unit (ALU) - Where all arithmetical & Logical
Calculation takes place.
• Control Unit – This units control over all performance of computers
and ensure the manipulations are as per given instruction.

RAM & It’s Type
RAM  is an acronym for random access memory, a type of computer memory that
can be accessed randomly. RAM is found in servers, PCs, tablets, smartphones and
other devices, such as printers.
Although all RAM basically serves the same purpose, there are a few different
types commonly in use today:
• Static RAM (SRAM)
• Dynamic RAM (DRAM)
• Synchronous Dynamic RAM (SDRAM)
• Single Data Rate Synchronous Dynamic RAM (SDR SDRAM)
• Double Data Rate Synchronous Dynamic RAM (DDR SDRAM, DDR2, DDR3, DDR4)
