IMPACT OF CLIMATE

CHANGE
THESE ARE SOME IMPACTS OF
CLIMATE CHANGE
• The physical system of the planet can be
observed in the melting of the poles.
• Affects and destroys crops and food
production causes disease and death
• Temperature will continue to rise
• Frost-free season will Lenghten (Growing
Season)
• Changes in Precipitation patterns
• More droughts and heat waves
• Hurricane will become stronger ang more
intense
• Sea level will rise
• Arctic Likely to become ice-free
El nino- Is a climate cycle in the pacific ocean
with a global impact on weather patterns.
La nina- a phenomenon that describes cooler
that normal ocean surface temperature in the
Eastern and Central Pacific Ocean.
CONSTELLATIONS
What is a Star?
A star is an astronomical object consisting a
luminous ball of gas, mostly hydrogen and
helium held together by its own gravity.
A star is a massive ball of plasma that emits
light throughtout the universe.
A star can be defined by five basic
characteristics.
CHARACTERISTICS OF A STAR
• BRIGHTNESS
• COLOR
• SURFACE TEMPERATURE
• SIZE
• MASS
BRIGHTNESS
• Related to the distance from the Earth and the
age of the star.
• Two characeristics define brightness:
Luminosity-is the amount of light that a stars
radiates.
Magnitude- measure of apparent brightness.
COLORS
• A star's color depends on its surface
temperature.Cooler stars tend to be redder in color,
while hotter stars have a bluer appearance. Star in
the mind rangers are whiteor yellow such as our
sun. Stars can also blend colors sych as red-
orange stars or blue-white stars.
Surface Temperature
• Astronomers measure a star's
temperature on the Kelvi Scale Zero
degrees on thr Kelvin scale is
theoretically absolute and is equal to
273.15
Size
• Astronomers measures the size of a given star in
terms of our own sun's radios. Thus, a star that
measure a one solar radii would be the same size
as our own sun.
• A star size along with its surfce temperature, will
determine its luminosity
Mass
• A star's mass is also measured in terms
of our sun, with 1 equal to the size of our
sun. for instance, Rigel which is mich
larger than our sun, has a mass of 3.5
solar masses. Two stars of a similar size
may not necessarily have the same mass,
as stars can vary gratly in density.
