 CD release installation
• CD release:
– It is required to follow the technical note (G0011) to
perform the installation of the CD release
• RISKS in case you do not follow these instructions, you can
encounter the following issues:
– > Various installation problems.
– > User risk: increasement of the CD release installation
time following a possible recovery/ Start Up (about 5
hours)
– > Diagnostic tool loss
– > Immobilised Vehicle
» Infoline calling center overloaded with calls.

 DiagNG3 - Installation
• The network updates are only available for the last
CD release version.

• Planning of the latest DiagNG3 and DiagDxi updates:

•DiagNG3
• once per month via NetDiag
• 4 network updates
• Weeks 11/17/37/41
• 2 CD release
• Middle and end of year

 VCI Matching
• To follow :
– Follow carefully the G0011 technical note
– Always keep the matching cable between the DiagNG3 and
the VCI plugged
• Last :
– About 10 min
• If you do not follow this procedure :
– Loss of time,
– Risk of standard exchange of the DiagNG3 and the VCI,
1. No possible diagnosis of the vehicle
2. No possible ECU programming

• At this step, you need :

– To unplug the power supply

cable between the VCI and
the vehicule.

– To check that the matching

cable is properly connected.

– When these 2 conditions have

been fulfilled, you can click on
the green tick button.

 VCI Matching
• Be careful:
– At this step, you need to
validate before you
reconnect the cable between
the VCI and the véhicule.
– Once the validation has
been done, you have 20 sec
to plug the VCI back.
• If you do not follow this procedure :
– VCI not updated,
– Error message,
– Procedure needs to be performed again,
– Infoline call,
– Communication between the DiagNG3 and the Vehicle not possible.

 Connexion DiagNG3 – Vehicle
• Wire connection DiagNG3 -> VCI, VCI -> VI
• The wire connection between the tool and the
vehicle is only used to supply power to the Diag
NG3 and is not used to reload the battery of
the Diag NG3.
• Advice for long programming operations :
– Plug the DiagNG3 to the VCI in order to avoid power
supplying loss,

Warning : the wire connection doesn't have any impact

on the communication feature!

 Programming ECUs
Important!
• Start each programming and campaign
operation within the old ECU connected to
the vehicle, even if this ECU seems to be
damaged or totally destroyed!
• Only change the ECU if the tool is asking
you to do it.

Why?
• To keep customer adjustments (ex : VECU) ->
loss of Body Builder data if this is not followed

• Programming VECU on Euro3 DXi trucks

-> Use DiagMax Dxi in order to obtain the vehicle's
maintenances type datamax zone vehicule type
maintenances.

• All mecanical modifications can imply an
electronical modification as well. So ask
for an adaptation demand (Technical note
K0002)

• Example of modification with impact:

– Changing the type of headlight (not obvious),
– Conversion from tractor to trailered rigid truck
(more obvious).

• The technical note which describes the

• To supply during an exchange:
– DiagNG3 and VCI

• The wireless cards must be there otherwise

they are taken in charge by the dealer!

• The battery must be unplugged and retired

before the exchange occurs, otherwise the
dealer has to pay if he wants to get his
battery back.
