View Enhancement Concept – Non-Predefined Views

Configured View

 Can be used for fast entry and display of several conditions, for example configurable
parameters and formulas (CPF).
 Can be used to group related conditions on one view (for example, Bonus and Penalties).
 Layout of displayed data is defined as table format.
 Displayed columns and content of pricing elements can be customized (no coding needed).
 Multiple view instances with the possibility of independent configuration.

Custom View

 View can be implemented without modification by customers or partners to enhance the UI


for specific use cases.
 Allows arbitrary layout, that is possible with SAP GUI.
 SAP delivers business logic that can be easily reused for custom views.
 Multiple view instances are possible.

UI Customizing – Profiles

Characteristics

 Collection of Customizing decisions made for pricing UI:


– Determine the visibility of a view.
– Define the field behavior in a pricing view (for example, set a certain field to be hidden or display only,
when a certain profile is assigned).
– Configure the displayed texts for all pricing element tree nodes in the Pricing Elements: Tree view
 All of the mentioned decisions can be made without using profiles, which are then valid for
all users.
 To make these decisions dependent on specific criteria (for example, an assigned user role),
profiles must be used.
 These profiles should not be confused with user profiles that are already available.

As the requirements of the different roles can vary, the user


interface must be designed to be flexible and configurable to
fulfill these needs.

Profiles ensure a very high granularity in order to tailor


configurations to a specific role. In addition, the flexibility is
guaranteed by providing further views. This could be done by
either implementing custom logic, or configuring subsets of
displayed data.
