Nelson Mandela
Who is Nelson Mandela?
Nelson Mandela was born in Johannesburg, in South Africa in 1918, and
he died in South Africa in 2013.
Early life
Nelson mandela's family was related to traditional thembu traditions,
and his family was the royal family, but they did not live in this
community as his father was fired from his job. He studied Law, and
when he went to Johannesburg to Johannesburg, to find a job, is when
he realised the inequality between individuals from different races, in
this city he met some activists.
Schooling
He at start wanted to be a Councillor in the Thembu Royal house, so he
attended to Clarkebury secondary school, after two years he moved
school to Healdtown, this school is the school that the thembu royal
family attend to. The university he went to is called Fort Hare.
Employment
As Mentioned before Nelson Mandela studied law, and he was employed
as a lawyer, later on he started his own lawyer firm, it was the only
african runned lawyer firm in the country, later on they were forced to
move from downtown Johannesburg, because the authorities disliked it.
What did this person do?
As it is well known, Mandela was the key factor for African people to
fight for their rights, Mandela fought against Apartheid which was
discrimination towards african individuals, for his behaviour he was
imprisoned. After his sentence was complete he started writing his
autobiography and later he even became president of south Africa
Who did it help?
It helped the non white community, as before they did not have the
same rights as white people, and mandela fought to obtain this state of
equality.
How has the person made a difference to
our life today?
If mandela had not acted in this way, maybe south Africa would have
been stuck in the past even in this age, thanks to the actions of
Mandela South Africa, is one of the most economically developed
countries in Africa.
Why did i choose Nelson Mandela?
I chose Nelson Mandela, because I think it is a clear example of how a
person can change the world, and I think that his actions did not make
minor changes, but also some changes that are in a greater scale.
Can a person Change the world?
Changing the world does not mean changing everybody's way of
thinking, but a lot of minor changes can become in a larger one, so i
don't think that we have to aim for things that are not possible, whereas
aiming in things that are .
