The survey examined how the film "When They See Us" influenced people's attitudes toward the criminal justice system. 29 African American college students aged 18-24 completed the online survey. The majority agreed that the film impacted their views of the justice system and how those who are incarcerated act upon release. Participants also largely agreed that the amount of communication prisoners have impacts behavior and that African Americans face unfair treatment in the justice system. The film appeared to shape respondents' perceptions of the issues presented.
