INTRODUCTION

• Shopping is an activity in which a customer browses the available goods or


services presented by one or more retailers with the intent to purchase a suitable
selection of them. It is the process of purchasing items in exchange for money
• Nowadays there are two mediums available for shopping. These mediums are
online and offline shopping.
• . Today the internet holds the attention of retail market. Millions and millions of
people shop through online.
• It depends upon a person which medium they want to follow for shopping.
• This project is to find, for which medium a customer prefer to buy electronic
products on trivendrum.
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

 To examine the factors influencing the consumer to


switch from the offline shopping to online shopping
and online shopping to offline shopping.
 To analyse the significant difference between the
online and offline consumer groups in terms of
demographic, technology use, availability and attitude
of the consumer.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

 Sample selection and sample size.


The sample selected in the research is done in Trivendrum through structured questioner,
sample size 179.
 Sampling method
Non-profitability sampling technique.
 Source of data collection
Primary and secondary data.
 Questionnaire design
Used close end questions with multiple choices and rating questions
 Data analysis
Used chi-square and simple percentage methods.
Findings and suggestions

Findings;-
 Reason for most of the customer to by online is door to door delivery.
 Reason for most of the customers to by offline is physical selection of goods.
 Discount ads. attract most of the customers to purchase online.
 customers prefer cash on delivery as payment option for both online and offline purchase.

Suggestions:-
 Sales of electronics products can concentrate more on online sales.
 Can apply cash on delivery option in every region in Trivandrum.
 Can add more stokes on festival times.
 Big offers attract more customers.
Conclusion

Online shopping is becoming increasingly popular for verity of reasons.


Consumers can get the full information about the product with its review
being passed by the existing users. If one wants to buy a product, he/she
is no longer want to ask for suggestions from anyone. Online shopping
web sites contain wide verity of goods/services both high quality and
mild quality keeping in mind the level of the people. Most of the
customers buy electronic products through online shopping websites, So
the manufactures can concentrate their sales more on online market.
customers prefer cash on delivery. High rate of sales of electronic
products take place in festival time.
