A study on the readiness of the

automobile market and factors

shaping the future of electric
vehicles in India

Indian context Research objective
Gaps in Existing research

• Existing research fails to take in To gain insights about the

consumer perception of the
to consideration the impact of current EV ecosystem in India
changing and the important external
industry regulations factors influencing the consumer
• Ex: Impact of FAME 2 and behaviour
more efficient emission free To study what attributes of the
engines like BS V1 product are playing a major role
in influencing the customer in the
electronic vehicle adoption
• Little to no mention of the process
electronic vehicles
• Government’s current goal
is to boost industrial Adoption of electric vehicles in india
production by providing
subsidies

Motivation for the study

With global warming on the rise there is a dire need to switch to alternate sources
of fossil fuels, transition to electric mobility seems to be the focus point for the
country's government
India witnessed a 167 per cent increase in year on year sales of Electric cars
however the total cars sold were just 3.2 K, the total overall electric vehicles sold
were 760 K (630 K of which were 3 wheelers)
How India Is Getting Ready For Electric Vehicles?
It is anticipated that the EV market will grow at a robust CAGR of 43.13%

Lagging overall EV infrastructure. Currently, there are only 150 charging stations in India but
installation of charging infrastructure is projected to grow at a CAGR of 42.38%

To see the impact of changes in the industrial landscape related to import duties, subsidies
and the regulations brought in by the government for Electronic vehicle manufacturing an

Methodology
Framework Secondary and primary research will be carried out in order to find the variables involved
in the experiment and to gain some knowledge of the EV ecosystem. The
Independent and dependent
Sampling methodology used will be Convenience Sampling (Non probability sampling)
variables, based on existing
research

An exhaustive questionnaire will be prepared for the relevant consumer base and will be
Survey floated to the consumers through different mediums like emails, WhatsApp and
Questions to assess each factor Text messages. Expected Sample size is 150-200
of the framework

The outcome of the survey will be analysed using the tools like SPSS. Factor analysis
Analysis will be performed in order to minimise the data and to find the important factors
Developing inferences

The findings of the analysis of the survey will be reported, recommendations and
Reporting meaningful take-aways from the research will be compiled and presented
Reporting the findings of the
analysis
