INTRODUCTION
• During this lesson we will be looking at Training
Aids in a lesson

• The reason we are covering this subject is so that


as an instructor you will have an understanding of
the ways in which a training aid can assist a
student’s learning.

• By the end of this lesson you will be able to:


- appropriate selection of training aids
- types of training aids available
- have an understanding of how best they can be used

• Anything that helps an instructor to present a
lesson in more effective and interesting way.

• Aims
- support the instructor
- deliver teaching / practice stages of the lesson
- present information in a more interesting and effective way.

interest and save time in explanations

• Recruits may need maps, video and models to


learn map reading where 2nd years may only need
maps

• Retire OHP- Update to digital presentations.
• Readily Available – most cadets units have,
cheaper than other options

• Class Control – don’t have to look away

• Legibility – usable in daylight

• Ready Reference – slides can be used in future


lessons

• Readable letter (font) style

• Capitals for short titles only

• No more than 5 points per page

• Contrast letter colour to background

• Avoid small lettering
