WHAT IS INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGY?

Set of tools, processes, and methodologies (such as

coding/programming, data communications, data
conversion, storage and retrieval, systems analysis
and design, systems control) and associated
equipment employed to collect, process, and present
information. In broad terms, IT also includes office
automation, multimedia, and telecommunications.
IT software and hardware

IT includes several layers of physical equipment (hardware),

virtualization and management or automation tools, operating systems
and applications (software) used to perform essential functions. User
devices, peripherals and software, such as laptops, smartphones or
even recording equipment, can be included in the IT domain. IT can
also refer to the architectures, methodologies and regulations
governing the use and storage of data.

Business applications include databases like SQL Server, transactional

systems such as real-time order entry, email servers like Exchange,
Web servers like Apache, customer relationship management and
enterprise resource planning systems. These applications execute
programmed instructions to manipulate, consolidate, disperse or
otherwise affect data for a business purpose.
IT EDUCATION AND JOB FUNCTIONS

• A team of administrators and other technical staffers deploy and

manage the company's IT infrastructure and assets. IT teams depend
on a wide range of specialized information and technology skills and
knowledge to support equipment, applications and activities. Third-
party contractors and IT vendor support personnel augment the IT
team.

• The information technology profession is extremely diverse: IT

workers can specialize in fields like software development, application
management, hardware -- desktop support, server or storage
administrator -- and network architecture. Many businesses seek IT
professionals with mixed or overlapping skill sets.

I.T IN ONLINE BANKING
(ONLINE BANKING OR INTERNET BANKING OR
E-BANKING) allow customer of financial institution
to financial transaction on a secure website operated
by the institution, which can be a retail or virtual
bank, credit union or building society. It may include
of any transactions related to online usage.
INTERNET SHOPPING
Online shopping is a form of electronic commerce which allows
consumers to directly buy goods or services from a seller over the
Internet using a web browser. Consumers find a product of interest by
visiting the website of the retailer directly or by searching among
alternative vendors using a shopping search engine, which displays
the same product's availability and pricing at different e-retailers.

An online shop evokes the physical analogy of buying products or

services at a regular "bricks-and-mortar" retailer or shopping center;
the process is called business-to-consumer (B2C) online shopping.
When an online store is set up to enable businesses to buy from
another businesses, the process is called business-to-business (B2B)
online shopping.
Online stores typically enable shoppers to use "search" features to
find specific models, brands or items. Online customers must have
access to the Internet and a valid method of payment in order to
complete a transaction, such as a credit card, an Interac-enabled
debit card, or a service such as PayPal. For physical products (e.g.,
paperback books or clothes), the e-tailer ships the products to the
customer; for digital products, such as digital audio files of songs or
software, the e-tailer typically sends the file to the customer over the
Internet. The largest of these online retailing corporations
are Flipkart, Amazon.com, and eBay.[1]
