Quiet Time

Time
WHAT IS QUIET TIME
• QT is that special time of our daily life in which we meditate the Word of
GOD .
• QT is the time in solitude , in which we fellowship with GOD with Word of
GOD.
• QT is listening to the voice of LORD by meditation of Word of GOD.
• Quiet Time is a spiritual practice that every believer has to develop as an
habit to be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ. (Rom. 12:2; 8:29; 2
Cor. 3:18)
• Connecting with the Power Station
• Reaching God
• Listening God
• A time with God and Me
• A time with Scripture
• A time with our own self
HINDRANCES TO QUIET TIME
The Outer Challenge: we live in a world of noise. Everywhere we go,
even in our own homes, there is some kind of noise to distract us, from
telephones to TV to traffic. But making time for daily devotion is critical
to hearing God!

The Inner Challenge:- Quiet time involves an inner state of

being, as well as an outward condition. Have you ever noticed that when
you sit down to read your Bible or pray, your mind begins to wander or
you suddenly remember what you needed at the grocery store? Inner
"noise" can be just as troublesome as outer noise when it comes to
having quiet time with God.
TOOLS FOR QUIET TIME
• Bible - your familiar version
• One devotional note like daily bread
(optional)
• Note book/ Pen
ATTITUDE

We are in the presence of God

Give Him the Honour and Respect
With a genuine desire to listen God
With a Humble mind
THE BENEFITS OF A DAILY QUIET TIME

1. The Word of God renews your mind.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2).

2. Prayer reduces fear and tension

The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? (Psalm 118:6)

3. God’s presence rejuvenates us.

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his
hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with
the LORD (Exodus 34:29).

When we spend time alone with God each day,

Others will see that we have been with Him.

i) Praise
____ God at all times
I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips (Psalm 34:1).

II) Commit
______ to God your sins
The Bible tells us that when we hide our sins in our hearts, God will not hear us —
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened (Psalm 66:18).
Repent from your sins and tell God sincerely that you are sorry for sinning against him, and he will certainly forgive you —
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

III) Request
______ God for your needs
You may need strength in a time of crisis, guidance for making right decisions,
wisdom for solving problems, help in trouble, healing for sicknesses, peace in
troubling circumstances, etc. The Bible tells us,
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will
guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).
This will ensure that the communication line between you and God is always open.
1) Pray for your own spiritual growth
2) Pray for the needs of others
