• Modal verbs come after a infinitive verb because
usually they don’t have a meaning by itself.
• These verbs aren’t used with to, except for- be able
to, have to, ought to and need to.
• Modal verbs can’t be conjugated (s in third person),
and they have not verbal tenses.
• According to the structure, the auxiliary verb “do” is
not needed on negative or interrogative sentences.
