 
 Scenario:
 A 10 year old boy was admitted at Pediatric ward at
Cagayan Valley Medical Center, presents with fever and
cough.
 He was well until 3 days earlier, when he suffered the
onset of nasal stuffiness, mild sore throat, and a cough
productive of small amounts of clear sputum. His
mother decided to seek doctor’s assistance because of an
increase temperature to 38.3 degree Celsius and spasms
of coughing that produce purulent secretions .
 Activity:

1. Read and study the content of the topic.
2. Create at least 2 Nursing Care plan based on the
case presented.
3. List the possible medications that may be included
in the plan of treatment to the patient.( give the
classification, mechanism of action, contraindication,
side effects, and nursing responsibilities for each
drug)
