Types of Plagiarism
Types of Plagiarism
The practice of directly using someone else’s work and claiming it to be your own.
Example: Mikey is in a hurry to finish his assignment. So, he copied down a lot of
quotes and facts from the internet and didn’t cite his sources or indicate that they
were someone else’s work.
CCV states that “Any student found to be dishonest in academic work may be
subject to disciplinary action, which could include suspension or dismissal” (CCV).
They define dishonest work as “the presentation of the language, ideas, or
thoughts of another person as one’s own work in the preparation of a paper,
laboratory report, oral presentation, or any other presentation; dishonest conduct
during quizzes, tests, or any other evaluative measures” (CCV).
