SUHAS GOPINATH

Founder and CEO, GLOBALS Inc

 Mr. Suhas Gopinath, now aged 23 is a young
Indian entrepreneur. He is the founder , CEO
and chairman of GLOBALS Inc, an IT
multinational company launched by him at
the age of 14 at California, USA.
 Few years ago Suhas was then a student of grade
8th. Computer was then unknown to him. One day
he accompanied his brother to the cyber café. He
was overwhelmed by the world of Internet and
spent his time in the café when his friends were
busy playing.
 He didn’t had enough pocket money. His father
was working in the armed forces and his mother
being a house wife was keen on his studies and
not on visiting cyber café.
 He convinced the owner of Cyber café and started
running the café during Owner’s lunch break.
 He was a part of school football team. For
him, it was another excuse to stay away from
home and spent more time in café.
 He won several worthwhile friends in US and

Europe through Yahoo chat. Winning such

friends was another arrow in the armory of
his operation workout.
 He wanted to start a website and again

money was the hindrance.

 He approached several companies to sponsor
his website but all the Indian companies
responded it as a child’s play.
 However he got a breakthrough. NETWORK

SOLUTIONS – a US based company sponsored

his site for one year.
 Within days he got an invitation to present a

paper in California, USA.

 There he got his first job offer as a freelancer
in NETWORK SOLUTIONS. But he refused the
offer as he wanted to start his own company.
 The company president was amazed to see

the determination of a 14 year old boy. He

offered him help to start his enterprise.
 Sumas returned back to India and continued

his efforts to start his own company when his

friends were struggling with studies and
exams.
 Next hurdle he faced was that, normally in India, it is
impossible to start a company before the age of 18.
 But he registered his company in California, US in the
name of Cliffords, his cyber friend whom he met
through Yahoo chat using his home address in USA.
 He named the company ‘GLOBALS INC’. He was the
owner as well as the only worker in his company.
 He started with web designing and began to get more
and more orders.
 He started hiring people for his company and the
criterion was not formal education but efficiency and
attitude.

 “You know, when I actually started, the funny
thing was that I was not aware that I was actually
an entrepreneur and I had not even heard of the
word entrepreneur. At one point I felt that, if you
are alone, people will not take you very seriously,
but if you are a member of a team, people will
actually accept you. So I thought that if I formed
a small team and started my own organization,
we could formalize the setup. I think it was at the
age of 15 that I realized that I was into
entrepreneurship and I felt that I had already
started my entrepreneurial career”.

waiting to take your money rather than build
your dream, GLOBALS is a breath of fresh
mountain air. There is something special about
GLOBALS - something to do with its people and I
have learnt so many new skills even simply
working alongside them. More than any other
feature that I liked most about working with
GLOBALS was their enthusiasm and creativity”.
