Solar Wood Dryer

 Solar wood dryer
 Design and constructed for
Shaan Furniture – A furniture
industry in Banepa who carves
blades for KAPEG’s small wind
turbine
 Wood is treated at first with
steam to get rid of insects and
their eggs and is dried in dryer
for about a month
 These kinds of specially treated
wood will be very much useful
for the blades design and
construction

Social interaction of KAPEG

 Besides its lots of daily
activates, KAPEG Staff
manage to get their time
for children near by and
help them with their
studies during evening
time
 Children are always very
enthusiastic to learn and
Study time for children at KAPEG
know more about the
things written in books

Children seems happy learning computer

Project Objectives
 Rural Electrification
 For windy and dry remote
areas
 Enhance research capability
in Nepal
 Very little details of
feasibility of wind energy
and different aspects of
natural materials is available
 Identify suitable material for
wooden blade wind turbine
 Blades made from local
materials are cheaper
 Easily accessible
Installation of 50 Watt Rutland Wind turbine with
timber blade at remote school in Dumja which does not
have electricity from national grid
