ABOUT SJVN LTD
• SJVN Ltd. is a Mini Ratna & Schedule 'A' CPSU under the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India. It is a joint
venture between the Govt. of India & Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and fast emerging as a major power player
in the country.

• SJVN Ltd. was incorporated in the year 1988, the company has the distinction of being conferred with the
prestigious “Mini Ratna” Category-I status by the Government of India in the year 2008.

• SJVN Ltd. is successfully operating the country’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa

Jhakri Hydropower Station, in Himachal Pradesh from where it started its journey.
INTRODUCTION

• Career planning is a deliberate process through which a person


becomes aware of personal career-related attributes .
• Career planning is not a one shot training process but it has longer
time frame and wider focus.
OBJECTIVES

• To measure the awareness level of employees regarding


career planning.
• To determine whether career opportunities available within
the organization matches the goals of the employee.
• To know the satisfaction level regarding career development
in the organization.
 
LIMITATIONS

• Personal biases of the respondents.


• Uncertainty factor and hence the accuracy of the answers given is
difficult to presume.
• Limited sample size .

• Awareness among both the employees and the
organisation.
• Offering fair promotional policies and development
programmes.
• Proper evaluation.
• Involvement of organisation.
• Job rotation.
SUGGESTIONS

• All initiatives of career planning must be practiced by the


organization so that employees have an option in choosing
their career.
• A proper path of career planning should be there.
• Different and interesting programs should be conducted to
enhance skills of the employees and to providing them
with wider scope of career planning.
CONCLUSION
• Career planning encourages individuals to explore and gather
information, which enables them to gain competencies, make decisions
& goal setting. It is a important phase that helps the employees in
making strategy for work-life balance.
• Career planning helps to retain hard-working and talented employees.
• Workforce becomes more stable . . This helps to reduce the cost of
hiring new people.
• The very fact that organization provides opportunities for promotion
and career growth increases loyalty of employees.
Moreover, a unique corporate culture can develop and thrive, when
people grow within the organization.
