Basic Education Assistance for
Mindanao (BEAM) is a project of the
Department of Education (DepEd) which is
geared towards the improvement of the
quality of and access to basic education in
Southern and Central Mindanao with an
aim of attaining peace and development
in Southern Philippines.
Introduced on January 2002,
BEAM is funded by the
Philippine government and the
Government of Australia (GoA)
through an AUD$53 million
(Php1,957,104,632.50) grant
from the Australian Agency for
International Development
(AusAID).
The BEAM Project is managed
by a range of personnel from
the Department of Education
and AusAID's managing
contractor.
This group manages the
implementation of the project's
initiatives, oversees the
monitoring of project outputs
and evaluation of project
outcomes and reports to
stakeholders.
