About our school
Gymnasium named after Stepan
Igorevich Oleinik is a mixed school with
about 900 students. Classes start at
8:00 a.m. When students finish the 4th
grade they must pass entrance exam if
they want to be enrolled in gymnasium.
Gymnasium is a participant of the
UNESCO Associated schools project
since 2004.
Upcoming events
Traditional fair "Smakota" took place in
Grammar school named after S. Oliynyk
during the last days of September. Part
of collected money was transferred to
Charity Fund "Inna" which helps those
suffering from oncological diseases.
History
After the liberation of Brovary from the
Nazi invaders in 1944, an elementary
school with Russian language curriculum
was opened in the area of the former
pre-war airport. The children of
servicemen studied here. Initially, there
were 15 students of different grades
(from 1 till 4). During 1977-1978
studying years the school had 207
students. During 1979 - 1980 years there
were already 212 students.
The Museum of Lenin was
established here, the geographical
site - in 1980. There were
established Russian language and
literature classes, Ukrainian
language and literature classes,
classes for physics, chemistry,
history and social sciences,
mathematics, foreign languages.
Three of them, classes for Russian,
Ukrainian and Math to be specific,
were recognized as the best in the
field.
In 1985 Olga Kozlenko was appointed as
a director of the school number four.
In 1985 the process of "restructuring"
began in the USSR, which reached the
school only in 1993, when by the
decision of the Brovary city council the
8-year school was reorganized as a
secondary school №4 with the Ukrainian
language of instruction.
Today the grammar school is a
secondary institution for talented and
gifted children, where the programs
"Step by Step", "NUSh", "Rostok",
"Intellect of Ukraine", "Civic Education",
"Fundamentals of Economics", "Applied
Economics" are delivered.
