GUIDELINES FOR THE 2014 NATIONAL


FESTIVAL OF TALENTS (NFOT)

Tentative date: April 7-10, 2014.

Hosted by Region III and it will be held at


MIMOSA, Clark, Pampanga.

Registration Fee: P 2,500.00 charged each

OBJECTIVES:

a. provide opportunities for students to


showcase their talents on technology and
livelihood education and technical-
vocational education through skills
competition in selected skills packages.

b. provide parallel learning sessions for


teachers and students to enhance their
knowledge and skills in their respective
field of interest.
Guidelines for the 2015 Skills Exhibition
DIVISION TECHNOLYMPICS

I – Participants

 open to all high school


students enrolled in both
public and private high schools
• Participant is open to any bonafide
student currently enrolled in
public (any type) or private
secondary schools for SY 2015-2016

• A student is only allowed to


participate in one (1) event/skill
exhibition during the Regional
Festival of Talents;

The screening or selection process to determine


entries at the national level shall be conducted
on the following suggested schedules:
 
School Level - Second Quarter/Grading Period
Division Level - Third Quarter/Grading Period
Regional Level - Fourth Quarter/Grading Period

Skills Exhibition Proper

 The Event Administrators and their


secretaries, technical committe and
judges, should be in the venue sixty (60)
minutes ahead of the event schedule.

 Event materials, supplies, tools, equipment


and other things needed for the venue will be
made ready by the Event Administrator
sixty (60) minutes before the event schedule.

 All participants should be at the


designated venue thirty (30) minutes
before the event starts. Late participants
without valid reasons shall be
disqualified.

 The participants will draw lots to


determine their respective places and
set up their food and materials on their
assigned places. Setting up of their
extension chords, equipment, and tools
should be done during this time.

 Briefing of participants will be done


fifteen (15) minutes before the scheduled
event.

 The Event Secretary will give the signal for


the event to begin. Once the event has
been started, the coaches, teachers,
delegates are no longer allowed to talk
to the participants to give them full
concentration in their work.

 Only the Event Administrator, Secretary,


technical, judges, official photographer and
participants are allowed in the venue.

 No questions shall be entertained during


the contest proper except clarifications
and points of order. All clarifications and
points of order will be directed to the
Event Administrator.

 Should there be any irregularities


found during the event, the Event
Administrator, in consultation with the
Board of Judges, may suspend the
conduct of the specific skill
exhibition if justified and refer the
matter to the attention of the
Technical and evaluation Committee
for appropriate action.

 Borrowing of materials, tools, supplies


during the event is not allowed.

 The working area should be cleaned


immediately after every event.

a. All outputs shall be endorsed to the


Secretariat by the Event Administrator

b. All endorsed outputs shall be displayed


until the duration of the event

Tarpaulin designs shall be printed in the


tarpaulin cloth. Extra time will be given for
Printing outside the host school.

Eligibility

 The 2014 Regional Technolympics


shall be participated in by bonafide
students enrolled in public (General or
TechVoc) or private high schools during the
school year 2013–2014;

 The school principal shall certify that the


students are enrolled in the field of
specialization where they are participating;
Eligibility
TLE/TVE teachers must submit the
following documents:

 Certification from the principal that the


teacher is currently employed whether
local or national; and

 Certification from the principal regarding


the teacher’s designation as the adviser
of the student-participant.

 Participant may only join in one event.

Mechanics of Judging – Skills Exhibition

 The products and performances of


participants in all events shall be judged by
three members of the Board of Judges
composed of experts, practitioners, service
providers or professionals.

 Judges will use the prepared score sheets


for both products and performances. Points
given to each of the participants shall be
added by each member of the Jury.

 The total scores of each participant shall be


ranked with the highest total number of
points as rank one,

 The tabulation committee members shall


review the computation and ranking made
by the judges. The participant with the
highest total number of points shall be
declared the Regional Record Holder.

 The final results shall be reviewed by the


members of the Board of Judges before
affixing their signatures in the summary
sheet.

 In case of a tie, triple tie or a quadruple


tie, the participant who finished first will
be declared as the “champion”.

 The decision of the Board of judges is


final and irrevocable.
