WRITING CHAPTER 4 OF

THE RESEARCH
PROF. CRISTINA G. GALLATO, CPA,
MSBA, ED.D.
At the end of the lesson, you should be able to:

1. organize the data gathered in the tally sheets

2. Present the data logically in table form
3. Calculate the statistical computations , and
4. Interpret the significance of the statistical
computations
Introduce the chapter . . .
 Brief mention of the purpose of the research
 Content of the chapter
Steps in the presentation, analysis and
interpretation of data
 Step 1. organize the data. (tally sheets)
 Step 2.
 1) transfer the data from the tally sheet to a table
 2) identify the table by labelng it in Arabic number
and putting a title which should describe the data
presented in it
 3) compute the percentage to bring out the statistical
significance of the data gathered
 4) rank according to magnitude of frequency. The
highest frequency is Rank 1
sample
Chapter 4
Presentation, Analysis and Interpretation of Data

This chapter presents the data gathered regarding

the leisure activities of the student leaders and
their perception of the benefits they derived
from the activities and proceeds to the analysis
and interpretation of such data.
Sub-problem 1.1: What mental activities do the student leader
respondents engage in at leisure time?

Step 3
 Interpret the significance of the figures. You
may sequence the interpretation of data in two
ways:
 Chronological (as written in the questionnaire)
 Logical (from highest to lowest frequency)
 Among the male respondents
 Among the female respondents
 As a whole
 Rank the mental activities of respondents
according to the magnitude of frequencies
 Which group indulged more in viewing movies
 Which group indulged less in reading
 Which group was more inclined to play
computer games
Step 4
 Write the interpretation and analysis of the
data in paragraph form.
 Steps:
 Write the sub-problem
 Introduce the table before you present your
data
 Write in paragraph form what you have found
in the table
 After doing the last paragraph, find out if the
paragraph answers your sub-problem.
Sub-problem 1.2 What physical activities do the respondents
engage in at leisure time?
