The attribute of Al-Qayyum God, being Self-Subsisting and All-Sustaining,

should not only live by Himself without the support of any other being but
all others should receive support from Him.
But Jesus can never be proved to possess these attributes.
Like other mortals, he was born of a woman, lived on food and drink,
suffered pain and humiliation, asked others to pray for the alleviation
of his sufferings, and finally, as the Christians say, died on the cross.
The New Testament bears ample testimony to all these facts.
But God being Ever-Living, Self Subsisting and All-Sustaining is above all this.
There is no god but Allah.’
We reject all gods, the god of ego,
the god of wealth,
the god of power,

the god of control and

we surrender to the Will of the
All- Hearing, All-Knowing,
Almighty Allah.

‘The one who says this du‘a three
times in the morning and in the
evening, not even poison will
harm him that night.

I seek refuge in Allah’s perfect
words from the evil of
His creation.’
The fasting person has two
kinds of happiness:

a happiness when he breaks

his fast and

a happiness when he meets

his Lord.

There are laws of cause and effect that
operate in the universe and ultimately
if we want something, we must know how
to give it. If we want love, we have to give love.
If we want respect, we have to give respect.
If we want money, we have to give money (charity).
Anything that we want, we have to learn to give.
The more we give, the more we attract.
If we are selfish, we create a blockage.
When there are no blockages, the power of
Almighty Allah flows through us.

Ibn Majah also narrated the following hadith on the
authority of Ali ibn Abu Talib:
“If it is the Night of Mid-Shaʿbān then stand in prayer
during its night and fast its day. For God descends to
the heavens of the earth when the sun sets and says,
‘Is there anyone who seeks forgiveness so that I may
forgive him? Is there anyone who seeks provision so
that I may grant him provision? Is there anyone
afflicted so that I may remove his affliction? Is there
not such and such,’ until the dawn breaks.”
(Hadith of Ibnu Majah 1:444)
