STRUCTURAL SYSTEM OF HUTHEESING

JAIN TEMPLE
Hutheesing Jain temple
• This temple is divided into two structure
i.e. main building and Kirti Stambh.
• The main building was constructed in
1848.
• Its architect was Premchand Salat.
• The restoration of this temple was done by
Upendra C Trivedi.
• The restoration of the temple was
completed before 3 to 4 months.

• The approximate size of beam are: 250*250mm, 600*600 mm.


• The approximate size of column are: 300*300mm, 600*600mm.
• Size of slab are 5’*6’.
The Kirti Stambh is relatively newly
constructed about 25 year before.
Structural System
 The load transfer mechanism is from slab-beam-column.
The connections provided are lock & key connection. The
load of beam is also transmitted to column through arch.
 Beam is supported on column through corbel.
 Arch is supported on column using a bracket.
 Arch are three-hinged.
As shown in fig. the dome is rested on
beams which are gradually resting on other
beams before finally transferring the load
on arch and column.

The layer between the dome bottom


and column depend upon the diameter
of dome.
