is an all purpose glass for serving wine, cocktails,

White wine glassware can be distinguished from red wine
glassware primarily by the bowl. It features more of a U-
shape and often a more upright design. The slimmer, U-
shaped bowl is used because white wines do not need to be
aerated as much as red wines.

Handling of glassware

 Glassware is highly fragile and most delicate


and expensive. Hence outmost care has to be
taken while handling glass equipment
 Glasses are normally stored in a glass pantry. It
should be place upside down in single rows on
paper shelves to prevent dust
 Tumblers should not be stacked inside one
another to prevent breakages and accidents
 When glasses is machined or hand washed,
each individual must be polished and dried
well with a glass cloth made of linen, as water
leaves stains on the glass.
 Glasses, whether clean or dirty have to handle
by the base or stem, since the finger print left
on the glass necessitates polishing.
