Comparison of PeopleSoft & Workday
• Both are started by tech entrepreneur and multi-billionaire David Duffield
• A Workday is a Software as a Service (SaaS) product, so it provides continuous
support to its users, it automatically drives out the updates and solution to
the customer mostly two times in a year, whereas the customers who make
use of PeopleSoft HCM depends on their IT departments to manage and apply
patches. And how they deploy is different.
• Workday was built for the cloud. From its beginning it could
push faster updates, it contained better data analytics tools, and it had
a more user-friendly user interface. Oracle's on-premise systems needed
extensive modernization to compete with the cloud giants.
• PeopleSoft's Human Capital Management (HCM) component licenses range
from $35 to $225 per license, and between $7.70 to $49.50 per year for
updates and 24/7 technical support. Costs depend on what components
of PeopleSoft will be purchased and how many employees will use it.
• Both are strong choices with a loyal customer base, providing enterprises with
solid, global, horizontal HR and ERP solutions.
