The Philippines’ evident risk to natural
disaster is due to its location. Being a country
that lies in the Pacific Ring of Fire, it is prone
to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

To develop economic instruments for the
assessment of land degradation and encourage the
sustainable use of land resources.
Recommendation
To develop information system that link
environmental monitoring, accounting and impact
assessment to land degradation.
Revision of existing laws and regulation and land to
include clauses such as strict protection lands from
degradation.
Continuous and effective land audits.
