PERSONALITY
• The word personality is derived from a Greek word “persona”

which means “to speak through.”


• Combination of characteristics or qualities that forms a
person’s unique identity. It also refers to a person’s unique and
relatively stable patterns of thoughts, feelings and actions.
• It signifies the role which a person plays in public.
• Personality trait is basically influenced by two major features :
1. Inherited characteristics
2. Learned characteristics
THEORIES OF PERSONALITY
Time and again various theories of
personality were proposed out of which
the trait theory is the most primitive
and important of all.

PERSONALITY TRAITS
A personality trait is a unique feature in an individual. Trait
theories suggest that a person can be described on the basis of
some number of personality traits.

• Today Alibaba is a company worth more than 2 Billion dollars. It has an impact on the entire
economy and internet industry of China. Founder of Alibaba, Jack Ma was born to traditional
musician story teller parents in 1964, in Hongzhau China. During his childhood communalism
was at its peak in the country and they had no contact with western world. Later tourism
boosted in China and he had always had the zeal to learn new things, he worked as tourist
guide for in return learning English language. He also had a very tough educational journey,
failing multiple times in different exams. He was also rejected 10 times by the Harvard
University. Later he graduated with a degree of Bachelors in English. After being rejected in
different jobs, he became a professor at a local university. Later he started his own
translation service business where his first visit to US got him introduced to internet. On
finding there was nothing on China on internet he got driven to start his own venture. But it
got shut down due to lack of funds. After doing a government job for a while, where he built
contacts with influential people like founding member of yahoo, he again started with his
business with a team of 18 people. His goal was to facilitate international trade to small and
medium size ventures based in China . While continuing his efforts to raise funds, he got
funded by Soft Bank and Goldman worth 25million together. Throughout his entrepreneurial
journey he saw many ups and down. Despite all, Alibaba created history when it introduced
the largest IPO in the world and raised $25 billion dollar at New York Exchange.

relationships. Extraverts are gregarious, talkative, joiner,
assertive and sociable.

school and got rejected by thirty companies for job. But he
