• The day of the dead is a
celebration that honors the
dead. These holidays are
celebrated on November
1st and 2nd.
• The day November 1 st called
All Saints Day. It is when the
souls of children arrive and
November 2 nd the day of the
dead is when the adults arrive.

DEVELOPMENT
HISTORY
People say it started before the colonization. Then the celebration combines an indigeous
aztecal ritual with catholicism, this for only Mexico because the celebration is marked in Latin
America. 
• People celebrate with food, drinks and

CELEBRATION activities the dead ejoyed in life. They


also clean and decorate gravesites,
make ofrendas, altars. Many people
use photos on the gravesites.
Some symbols for the celebration are calacas
CELEBRATION and skulls, we can see them in parades, candies
or masks.
