• Sterile care suctioning during tracheal toilet
• Peptic ulcer prophylaxis
• DVT prophylaxis
• Early mobilization and readiness to extubate
• Daily oral care with chlorhexidine mouth wash
• No sedation during ventilator use
• Kindly confirm by ET tube tip or suction canula tip

KEY COMPONENTS OF
CATHETER ASSOCIATED UTI PREVENTION BUNDLE

• Catheter insertion is done by taking aseptic precautions


and it is properly or securely anchored.
• Collection bag should be below the level of bladder.
• Closed draining system with unobstructed urine flow
should be maintained.
• Please empty the bag regularly.
• Tie tubing to bed areas.
• Use it only when indicated and encourage its early
removal by adopting condom drainage system SOS.
• Please confirm by catheter tip or urine C/S from lab.
KEY COMPONENTS OF FOLEY’S BUNDLE

• Insert catheter only when indicated


• Leave catheter in place as long as needed
• Properly trained person should insert and maintain the
catheter
• Please do aseptic insertion of catheter with proper
anchoring
• Maintain closed drainage system and unobstructed
urine flow
• Standard precautions should be followed as per HIC
guidelines

• Shaving immediately before operation can be done


but electric hair clipper use is preferred.
• Chemo prophylaxis by pre or peri operative antibiotics
has to be done in loading doses.
• Ensure that the patient’s body temperature is normal
throughout the operation. Excluding cardiac patients.
• Ensure patients glucose level and maintain it normal
throughout the operation especially for DM patients.
• Follow hand hygiene by proper hand scrub etc.

• Follow all barrier precautions during operation and during
dressing of wound also.
• Proper sterilization of instruments by autoclaving in CSSD
department along with use of chemical test tape and
biological indicator
• Maintain sterile area of OT especially air and other
working surface area clean and aseptic.
• Send swabs from OT and SICU and CSSD periodically to lab.
• Kindly confirm clinically and by post operative wound
swab C/S
KEY COMPONENTS OF CENTRAL LINE BUNDLE

• Hand hygiene
• Barrier precautions like (hand washing, hand
rubs) use of gloves, mask etc.
• Betadine or chlorhexidine skin antiseptic use.
• Daily review of site for any redness or pus
discharge or indurations etc.
• Avoidance of femoral vein for central lines.
• Kindly confirm by blood C/S or canula tip C/S
from lab.
