IDENPENDENT CALUSE

IT IS A GROUP OF WORDS THAT CONTAINS A SUBJECT AND A VERB


THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF CLAUSE

• Idenpendent
A clause that expresses a complete thought and can stand alone.
Example
He memorized a poem last night.
Mary will read her poem
When a idependent clause starts with a
capital letter and ends with a period or
question mark, it is a sentences.

Example

He runs fast.

Students learn english.


DEPENDENT (OR SUBORDINATE)

• It does not express a complete thought and It can not stand by itself as a sentences.
Example

Becuase he memorized a poem

When Mary reads her poem at school

Since many people enjoy poetry
