ROOFING SOLUTION FOR:

OPTIONS – TOP SURFACE

• Marine Plywood
• Medium Density Fiber
boards (MDF)
• High Density Fiber boards
(HDF)
• Blockboards
• Orient Strand Board (OSB)
• Fiber Cement Board
• Polycarbonate Sheets
• PVC Foam board sheets

Steel Roofing solution be provided for the Car

porch and two balconies. Steel framing is to be
provided with the top exposed portion to be
covered by any high strength, water-proof
material and ceiling of glossy finish boards.
MARINE PLYWOOD

Marine plywood is manufactured

from durable face and core veneers, with few
defects so it performs longer in both humid
and wet conditions and resists delaminating
and fungal attack. Its construction is such that
it can be used in environments where it is
exposed to moisture for long periods. Each
wood veneer will be from tropical hardwoods,
have negligible core gap, limiting the chance
of trapping water in the plywood and hence
providing a solid and stable glue bond. It uses
an exterior Water and Boil Proof (WBP) glue
similar to most exterior plywood.
MEDIUM DENSITY FIBERBOARD - MDF

Advantages of MDF
• MDF is generally cheaper than plywood.
• The surface of MDF is very smooth, and you
don’t have to worry about knots on the surface.
• Because it’s so smooth, it’s a great surface for
painting. I recommend first priming with a
quality oil-based primer.  (Don’t use aerosol
spray primers on MDF!!  It just soaks right in, and
is a huge waste of time and money.  It will also
cause the surface to become rough.)
• Also because of its smoothness, MDF is a great
substrate for veneer.
• MDF is very consistent throughout, so cut edges
appear smooth and won’t have voids or splinters.
• Because of the smooth edges, you can use a
router to create decorative edges.
• The consistency and smoothness of MDF allows
for easy cutting of detailed designs (such as
scrolled or scalloped designs) using a scroll saw,
band saw, or jigsaw.
HIGH DENSITY FIBERBOARD- HDF
High Density Fiber board or Hardboard
is a type of Fiberboard which posses
more strength than MDF . The exterior
grades are useful for roofing purposes
provided with laminate or painting.

BLOCKBOARD
Blockboard is made up of softwood
strips and veneers. They are
manufactured by placing softwood
strips edge to edge and sandwiched
between veneers and then this
sandwich is glued together with high
pressure.
Based on the usage of these boards , they can be:
• Exterior Grade – Also known as BWP or BWR grade blockboard. It is
highly water resistant.
• Interior Grade – Also known as MR Grade , suitable for indoor purposes
and moisture resistant.
Block board also comes in various thicknesses like 16 mm, 19 mm, 25 mm,
35 mm and 50 mm.
Properties Of Blockboard
• Poor conductor of Sound, Heat, Electricity
• Blockboards are stable, light and easy to cut
• It has good dimensional stability so is highly resistive to wrapping and
cracking
• It is light in weight than plywood due to its softwood which extend life
span of furniture.
• Compare to another competitive material life span of Blockboard is more
than plywood.
FIBER CEMENT BOARD
In fibre cement there is fibre
reinforcement with cement, which
contributes to making the fibre-
cement material even stronger.
Together with a carefully planned
production process, fibre cement
makes it possible to develop strong
and long lasting construction
materials. fibre cement is
considered as a material physically
suited for construction products
such as cladding and roofing. It is
primarily due to its function,
performance and commercial
value.
ORIENT STRAND BOARD -OSB
• Oriented strand board (OSB) is a type of
engineered wood similar to particle board,
formed by adding adhesives and then
compressing layers of woodstrands (flakes)
in specific orientations.
• OSB is a material with favorable mechanical
properties that make it particularly suitable
for load-bearing applications
in construction. It is now more popular than
plywood, commanding 66% of the
structural panel market.The most common
uses are as sheathing in walls, flooring, and
roof decking. For exterior wall applications,
panels are available with a  radiant-
barrier layer pre-laminated to one side; this
eases installation and increases energy
performance of the building envelope. OSB
also sees some use in furniture production.
POLYCARBONATE SHEETS
Polycarbonate is a thermoplastic that comes
in a transparent sheet. It is incredibly tough
and absorbs minimal moisture, making it
resistant to impact damage as well as water
damage. It's also flame-retardant and
chemical resistant.
