THE FLOWER

FAIR
My visit to Medellin to The
Flower Fair in 2013 was
great. This was the 56th of
the fair.
It took place fro August 2th
to te 11th in Medellin,
Colombia.
I arrived in Medellin on
Tuesday the 30th of July,
three days before the start of
the event. I flew from
Barranquilla to Medellin. I
enjoyed the short flight.
After I arrived, I went to the front
of the Obelisco Shopping Center,
where was the first event of the
show. There was a concert and a lot
of audience.
There was a lot of Singers and I
loved Sergio Vargas in salsa, Zion
and Lennox in reggeton.
The places was full of people
because the singers and orchestras
were really amazing.
A few days laters, I attended to the
National Festival of Trova.
As an authentic expression of the
paisa culture, it was a free event
and great show.
I also attended the Classic and
Antique Car Parade on
Wednesday 7th, it was one of the
most populated events at the
Flower Fair.
On the 8th I attended the
Botanical Garden’s Orchids,
Birds and Flowers Exhibitions.
In the evenings there was always a
different events and I attended all of
them.
Black Nigth, it was so much fun.
World Music, I discobered new
diversity of generes.
Nigth Of The Humor, I laughed
very much.
Son And Bolero
Tropical Nigth , and finally
Firsherman’s Orchesta.
I had a great time every night.
Before leaving Medellin, I had to try
the local food: “La Bandeja Paisa”
of course.
On the last day of the show I visited
various of the local restaurants.
I asked for chicharrón (pork). ¡It was
delicius!.
I also had a beer, and tried some of
his other drinks like: La Chicha, El
Guarapo, El Chirrinchi and I
couldn’t miss the shot of
Aguardiente.
I also tried the typical sweets:
 El Chola’o
 Raspao
 Blanqueado
 Miguelucho
 Merengues
 Gelatina De Pata.
Eat was delicious.
I retuned on August 12th at noon,
leaving behind 12 spectaculars
days where I visited differents
places, dances, foods, musics and
events.
My trip was so pleasant that I
would like to repeat it.
