PRAYER OF TRAVELLER
What is the most important prayer in
Islam?
 Muslims pray five times a day every day, but
the most important prayer of the week is
“jumah,” or the day of gathering, on Friday.
Why are prayers important?

 We need to pray for protection for our loved

ones every day. Pray for loved ones by name,
one by one. You can never pray too much for
one person. Sometimes it helps to make a list
of all the people that you need to pray for
each day.
What is the significance of salat?

 It is one of the five pillars of Islam and an

obligatory religious duty for Muslims. It is a
physical, mental and spiritual act of
reverence to Allah and is to be observed five
times a day by the believers as an act of
communication, remembrance and reverence
of Allah.
What does the Quran say about
prayer?
 Salah in the Quran
 "Surely my prayer, and my sacrifice and my
life and my death are (all) for Allah", and "I am
Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve
Me and keep up prayer for My
remembrance".
Why do we pray five times a day?

 Salat is the obligatory Muslim prayers,

performed five times each day by Muslims. It
is the second Pillar of Islam. God ordered
Muslims to pray at five set times of day:
Salat al-fajr: dawn, before sunrise.
How many gods are there in Islam?

 one God
 In Islam there is only one God and there are
99 names of that one God (al-asmāʼ al-ḥusná
lit. meaning: "The best names"), each of
which evokes a distinct attribute of God. All
these names refer to Allah, the supreme and
all-comprehensive god
What are the 5 prayers of Islam?

 Fajr – the dawn prayer. It is two Rakat Salat.

 Zhuhr – the early afternoon prayer. It is four
Rakat Salat.
 Asr – the late afternoon prayer. It is four
Rakat Salat.
 Maghrib – the sunset prayer. It is three Rakat

IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER IN ISLAM

 Allah does not need human prayers because

he has no needs at all. Muslims pray because
God has told them that they are to do this,
and because they believe that they obtain
great benefit in doing so
