Present Perfect Simple

Present Perfect Progressive
Present Perfect Simple:-
Form :- Subject + Has/Have + P.P.V.
eg :- I’ve done my homework.
Usage :
1-Actions in the past (we don’t know when)
eg:-I’ve seen this movie before
2-Actions started in the past and continued up to the
Present.
eg:-She has had this car since 2012.
3-Actions happened and finished in the past with obvious
result at present.
eg:-He can’t play with us. He has broken his leg.
Present Perfect Simple:-
Time Expressions :- always, ever, since, before,
once, twice, so far , just , recently , lately, for, since
already, yet.
Note:
1.Sub. +have/has+been (went and came back).
eg: She has been to the cinema.
2.Sub. +have/has gone (went and still there).
eg:She has gone to the cinema.
3.Sub. + have/has been in +Place + for + duration
(still in the place)
eg: She has been in the cinema for 2 hours.
Present Perfect Progressive:-
Form :- Sub. + have/has + been + (V. +ing)
eg: She has been cleaning since 10 o’clock.
Usage :-
Actions happened in the past and continue up
to the present.
eg: He has been using the internet for 2 hours.
Actions that happened and finished in the
past with obvious results at present.
eg: She is tired. She has been reading all night.
Present Perfect Progressive:-

Time Expressions

Since, for ,how long, all (day , week , morning)


Note:
Present Perfect Simple
We focus on the result of the action.
eg:I’ve read five chapters since 10 O’clock.
Present Prefect Progressive

We focus on the duration of the action.


eg: I’ve been reading since 10 O’clock.
