Present perfect for past experiences

We use For to talk about a length of time.


Ex: (ten years; 15 minutes; nine months; twenty years)

- We have taught at this school for a long time.

- They’ve been married for 30 years

We use Since to talk about a point in the past, a


specific point in time.
Ex: (last tuesday; January; half past six )

- They have been at the hotel since last week.

- I haven’t ridden a horse since I was 9.

- You have worked here since you left your school.

(Just - Already - Yet)
Present perfect for past experiences

Already Used to indicate that something has happened


earlier. It is used in the mid-position of the sentence.

Just Used when we want to indicate that something


happened a short time ago (very recently)

Yet Used to talk about something that is expected to


happen, but did not happen till this moment. It
means at any time up to now

Already - I’ve already cleaned my room


DONE - She has already sent the mail

Just - I’ve just cleaned my room


RECENTLY - She has just sent the mail
DONE

Yet - I haven’t cleaned my room yet
