 EYELID Protect eyeball from foreign bodies


 Margins covered by hairs called cilia.when dust particles come in contact with
cilia rapid blinking takes place.
 Melbomian glands and sebaceous glands are also present.
 CONJUCTIVA HAS TWO PORTIONS Bulbar portion and palpebral portion
 Lubricated by lacrimal glands
 LACRIMAL GLANDS situated in the shelter of bone.tear flows from lacrimal
duct to lacrimal sac and to nose.contain lysozyme which kills bacteria.action
controlled by vii cranial nerve( facial nerve).

 INNER LAYER-retina

Fiberes.posterior part is pierced by optic nerves
