The document discusses four concepts related to cultural interaction and change: enculturation is how an individual learns the culture of a group through experience and instruction; assimilation occurs when a dominant group tries to replace another group's culture completely; transculturation is when a culture drastically changes into something new; and interculturation refers to the mixing of cultures between groups that share space without giving up their own cultures.

Enculturation is a process of socialization whereby a person becomes part of another’s
culture. This is a process whereby individuals learn their group’s culture through experience, observation, and instruction. A person will learn to develop the knowledge and skills needed in order to participate in the communal, cultural practices and to become a fully functioning member of the community ASSIMILATION
Assimilation occurs when a dominant group makes a bid to enculturate another by
attempting to supplant all aspects of its culture and make it over into the image of the dominat group. The process of assimilating involves taking on the traits of the dominant culture to such a degree that the assimilating group becomes socially indistinguishable from other members of the society. TRANSCULTURATION
Transculturation describes the process whereby a culture changes drastically, hence
overcoming itself and translating into something new. INTERCULTURATION Interculuration refers to the mixing of cultures that goes on between groups who share a space. The group does not necessarily give up on their own culture but participate in various ways in each other’s life.
