What is skip
counting?
.
 WHAT IS SKIP COUNTING?

In math, skip counting can be defined

as the method of counting forward by
numbers other than 1. To skip count,
we keep adding the same number
each time to the previous number
HERE, WE ARE SKIP COUNTING BY 2 ON A NUMBER
LINE. SO, STARTING AT 0, THE NEXT BE 0 + 2 = 2,
THEN, 2 + 2 = 4, THEN 4 + 2 = 6, THEN 6 + 2 = 8, AND
THEN, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 AND SO ON.

Let us prepare a table where we will see the skip counted numbers from 2
to 10.
This table resembles the multiplication table from 2 to 10.

 SKIP COUNTING BY 3

Here, we add number 3 for each step of

counting. Suppose we start counting from
1, then, skipping the count by 3 for each
step we can write as;

1,4,7,10,13,16,19,22,
25,28,31,34,37,…,so
on
 SKIP COUNTING BY 5

When we count skipping 5 numbers in between, then we

skip count by 5. Let us start counting from 10 and write
the succeeding numbers which comes when we skip the
next 5 numbers.

 SKIP COUNTING BY 10

When we skip 10 digits in between while

counting the numbers, then it is said to skip
counting by 10. See the below-given example to
understand it better.
