Hybrid MSTP Product overview
 Hybrid MSTP product is mainly used in the 3G carrier
network. It is one solution of IP RAN and LTE. The MS
TP equipment can be migrated to Hybrid MSTP smoothly
with a few boards replacement.
 Dual cores, uniform equipment
 TDM + Packet planes in one sub-rack
 The solution of migration from TDM to ALL-IP

 Multiple links are attached to form a link aggregation
group in the same equipment

LACP
 LACP: Link Aggregation Control Protocol
 Dynamic aggregation and de-aggregation of Ethernet link
s
 Aggregation modes:
 Manual aggregation (LACP disable)
 Static aggregation (LACP enable)
 Static aggregation is recommended
 Advantage of static aggregation mode
 Automatically detect the fiber/cable/port failure and p
orts mis-connection

Specification of LAG
 Link aggregation provides two functions:
 Increased bandwidth (Load sharing mode)
 Increased availability (Load non-sharing mode)

MC-LAG Overview
 MC-LAG: Multi-chassis Link Aggregation Group
 MC-LAG allows aggregating multiple inter-chassis data l
inks that are connected to the same device to provide a
more reliable connection. When a link or an NE fails, M
C-LAG automatically switches the services to another av
ailable link in the same LAG
 Load Sharing Modes
 MC-LAG does not support load sharing between two NEs

Page42
MC-LAG Principle
 The OptiX OSN equipment supports non-load-sharing MC-
LAG. That is, only either LAG1 or LAG2 carries servic
es and is active. At the same time, LAG1 and LAG2 mus
t be Non-load-sharing. NE1
