INTRODUCTION OF SOLAR CAR
• It can charge only in sunny days.
• The solar cell didn’t work on cloudy days or
rainy days.
• The mechanical system is difficult because it
needs to be strong yet light weight.
•  Solar cars are beneficial because they do not use
fossil fuels and they reduce pollution.
DESIGN SPECIFICATION
Solar car consists of
Solar panel : (6V)
Batteries : 6V
Motor : Small electric motor (Permanent magnetic type DC motor
(3W))
A propulsion system : pulley propulsion and gear propulsion.
Wheel System : 4 wheels (2 front and 2 rear) toy wheels
Chassis : Strong and lightweight
Car body : cardboard
Wheel axles : Stiff wire
Vehicle Dimensions : Maximum length: 25 cm (Front to back)
: Maximum wide: 18 cm (Side to side)

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS
• Safer than traditional electric current
• Solar power is pollution free and causes no
greenhouse gases to be emitted after installation
• Reduced dependence on foreign oil and fossil fuels
• Renewable clean power that is available every day of
the year, even cloudy days produce some power
• Return on investment unlike paying for utility bills
ADVENTAGES AND DISADVENTAGES OF PRODUCTION

• Use batteries to store extra • No solar power at night so

power for use at night there is a need for a large
• Solar can be used to heat battery bank
water, power homes and • Devices that run on DC
building, even power cars power directly are more
• Excess power can be sold expensive
back to the power • Cloudy days do not
company if grid intertied produce much energy
