Drug Mules/Couriers

is someone who smuggles illegal drugs with

them across a national border. 

The majority of drug mules are male, but the number of women doing
this, is on the increase. The women are often from poor communities
and are viewed as dispensable by the drug lords. Drug mules are
usually in their twenties or thirties, but people up to the age of 72
have been caught doing this.

Two men are behind bars after they allegedly tried to smuggle almost 1,900 ecstasy pills
inside M&M bags. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said the incident
happened at the B&M International Bridge in Brownsville. Customs officers said 21-year-
old Armando Padron-Nieto and 18-year-old Jose Alberto Luna-Trejo walked up to the
bridge from Matamoros. A routine inspection revealed that the two Matamoros men had
six bags of M&Ms candy hidden under their clothing. Officers  noticed that the M&M
bags had been opened and resealed. A closer look revealed that 1,867 ecstasy pills
worth $37,00 inside the M&M bags.

Marijuana Fast Facts
•Marijuana is, by far, the world’s most commonly
used illicit drug
•Marijuana or Cannabis is an annual plant. It matures
5-6 months
•Marijuana and other cannabis products are usually
smoked

products (cookies or brownies)
•Regular use can delay the onset of puberty in young
men and reduce sperm production.
MARIJUANA VARIETIES (INDICA)

Indica is a short plant, usually under

6ft tall, rarely over 8ft tall. Its
marijuana leaves have short, wide
fingers and are deep green, often
tinged with purple.At maturity, the
marijuana leaves start to turn even
darker purple. It has short branches
laden with thick, dense marijuana
buds, which mature early.
 SATIVA

Sativa marijuana plants vary from about 6ft to over

12ft in height. The marijuana leaves are long and thin
fingered and are light green , especially equatorial
varieties, which have less chlorophyll and more yellow
pigments in order to protect the plant from intense
light. Temperate varieties are darker green. The
marijuana plants have long branches. The bottom ones
may spread 4ft or more from the central stalk, rather
like a conical Xmas tree shape.
The marijuana buds are long and thin, far less densely
populated than the Indica, although longer in length.

major types of

has the
distinction of
developing buds
at a very early
stage of growth
regardless of the
light cycle.

only ever gets
about a foot high.
